EASY TECHNIQUES FOR PAINTING LEAVES WITH WATERCOLOURS

There are variety of leaves and all are very beautiful. Each leaf having different shape and shades.

We can’t imagine flowers without leaves.

In recent posts I shared the techniques of painting flowers and I hope you are practicing them.

Today I will be sharing the technique of PAINTING LEAVES WITH WATERCOLOURS.

So grab your brushes and paints and let’s get started.

LEAF 1

this is the simplest leaf of all. Observe the image carefully.

Step 1- Paint the shape of leaf with light green colour.

Step 2- Shade its outer side with dark green colour.

Step 3- Make a line from bottom to the top of the leaf.

LEAF 2

This one is also simple

Step 1- Make a long and slightly curled stroke with light green colour.

Step 2- Shade it with dark green colour from one side.

LEAF 3

Step 1- Make a slightly curled and long line.

Step 2- Make small small leaves around the line.

Step 3- Shade the leaves.

LEAF 4

Step 1- Paint the shape of leaf. This time make it a bit round at the top.

Step 2- Shade it with darker colour.

Step 3- Make a line from bottom to the top of the leaf.

LEAF 5

Step 1- Paint a star like shape with light colour.

Step 2- Shade its outer side with dark colour. Make a line from bottom to the top of the leaf.

Like this try painting more leaves.
