HOW TO PAINT ROSES WITH WATERCOLOURS
Rose is one of my favourite flower and I love to paint it. When I started watercolour painting, I always wanted to paint rose but when I tired to paint it, I failed.
But eventually with practice I painted it right. While practicing, I noticed there are some common steps and with the help of these steps you can also paint roses.
In the last post, I shared some steps of painting simple and easy flowers with watercolour.
Today I’ll be sharing the steps for painting roses.
So, let's get started with 'HOW TO PAINT ROSES WITH WATERCOLOURS'.
This rose is very easy to paint and I recommend beginners to start with this one.
Step 1
Wet you brush and select any colour you want. For this rose, I’m using purple colour.
Dilute the colour a little bit with water to get its lighter shade and paint strokes in circular manner as shown in this image.
Step 2
Continue with making some more strokes around the centre.
Step 3
Now, make some extra strokes at the down side of the rose to show the centre of the rose a bit upper side.
If you want to show the centre of the rose down side, then make extra strokes at the upper side.
Step 4
Shade the Patels of the rose with the darker shade of colour you chose. Make some leaves at the bottom (or anywhere you want).
And your first easy rose is ready.
This type of rose is my favourite.
If you had done enough practice of painting rose 1 then try this one too.
Step 1
Start with making the centre part. I have chosen brown colour for the centre.
For making this kind of centre part, Tap the brush and make dotes. Tap until you get this type of centre as shown in the image.
If you like curled centre ( same as rose 1) then paint that one. No need to paint this one.
Step 2
Now, for this rose, we have to make a bit big and fat strokes. Do this with the colour you want. Just make sure that in this step, use lighter shade of the colour you choose.
If you want you can blend a bit different shades in this step ( I have blended light red with light orange ).
Step 3
Now, make some extra strokes at the down side of the rose to show the centre of the rose a bit upper side.
If you want to show the centre of the rose down side, then make extra strokes at the upper side.
Step 4
Shade the Patels of the rose with the darker shade of colour you chose. Also shade it with the darker shade of the colour you choose to blend with the first colour.
I have shaded this rose with orange and red (the colour I chosen to blend with orange)
Make some leaves at the bottom (or anywhere you want).
And your second easy rose is ready.
Hope you liked these techniques of painting roses.
If you liked it and it helped you, then please share this with your friends who also wants to paint.
